2 MLAs among several injured after car crashes into SUV in Delhi

A collision on Vikas Marg in central Delhi on Sunday night left two Indian lawmakers and four others with minor injuries. The accident occurred when a hatchback crossed a road divider and crashed into an SUV near the PWD headquarters.

As per the preliminary inquiry, the hatchback was being driven by a 32-year-old resident of Delhi’s Arya Nagar, who was travelling towards ITO from Laxmi Nagar along with his wife and two minor children.

Delhi Aam Aadmi Party MLA Anil Jha and Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Abhay Patil were traveling in the SUV when the incident happened. Police reported that all six individuals involved sustained only minor injuries and were transported to Lok Nayak Hospital, where they are currently in stable condition.

Preliminary inquiries indicate the hatchback, driven by a 32-year-old Delhi resident, was traveling towards ITO from Laxmi Nagar with his wife and two children. The vehicle reportedly hit the road divider, crossed the railing, and entered the opposite lane, colliding with the oncoming SUV.

All people sustained minor injuries and were shifted to Lok Nayak Hospital for treatment. They are in stable condition.

The Fire Brigade was called to the scene to assist in clearing the damaged vehicles and the roadway. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
