2-year-old girl missing in Kalaiya found safe after 12 hours

A two-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Kalaiya, Bara district, Nepal, has been found safe after a 12-hour ordeal. Bindi Mandal disappeared from her yard on Saturday evening while playing, prompting her grandfather to alert the police.

Residents discovered Bindi on Sunday morning in a different sub-metropolitan city area, approximately one kilometer north of her home. A local woman found the child crying by the roadside and alerted the authorities. The District Police Office confirmed the girl was found unharmed.

An intensive search operation was launched immediately after the girl was reported missing. The search involved police officers, family members, local residents, and specialized units, including trained sniffer dogs from the Bara District Police Office. The Nepali Army and Armed Police Force also provided assistance. Following her rescue, Bindi was taken to the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya for a medical examination, after which she was safely reunited with her family. Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of her disappearance.
