20 Taiwanese Youths Embark on 'Gold Coast Dream Maker' Immersive Learning Program in Australia

Twenty outstanding young students from Taiwan have embarked on an immersive learning journey to Australia, participating in the 'Gold Coast Dream Maker' project. This initiative, fully subsidized by the Ministry of Education's Youth Development Administration, aims to foster international education and connect local students with global opportunities.

The program is a collaborative effort, with the Nantou County Government and its affiliated Xuguang High School successfully securing funding. The project emphasizes a strong local component, guaranteeing two-thirds of the spots for students from Nantou. Xuguang High School itself excelled in the national selection process, securing 12 of the 20 available places. The remaining participants hail from various other counties, including Kinmen, Taoyuan, and Taichung, promoting cross-county educational exchange.

During their nearly three-week stay, the students will engage in a forward-thinking curriculum centered on three main themes: innovative thinking, creative technology, and ecological sustainability. They will attend courses at world-renowned institutions like the University of Queensland (UQ) for innovation and entrepreneurship, and Griffith University's film school to explore media, animation, and game design. The ecological aspect will involve visits to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to learn about animal care and habitat conservation.

Nantou County Deputy Magistrate Wang Rui-de expressed his confidence in the students, noting the "sparkle and confidence" in their eyes during training. He encouraged them to serve as youth ambassadors for Nantou, showcasing their talents on the international stage and highlighting the boundless potential of the region's youth.
