Candidates interested in pursuing a second university degree without an entrance exam can now apply to the Open Education Faculty (AUZEF) programs. The application period runs from July 27, 2026, to October 12, 2026.

Applications are entirely online and require no physical documents. Interested individuals can submit their applications through the portal basvuru.istanbul.edu.tr. This streamlined process aims to make higher education more accessible.

Eligibility is open to individuals currently enrolled in or who have graduated from associate or bachelor's degree programs. Graduates of bachelor's programs can apply to AUZEF's associate and bachelor's programs, while associate degree holders can apply to associate programs. The program also accommodates Turkish citizens who have graduated from foreign universities and possess equivalency certificates from the Council of Higher Education, as well as students from universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) listed in the ÖSYM guide.

Specific programs have additional requirements. For instance, Philosophy, Sociology, and History programs are exclusively for bachelor's degree graduates aged 35 and above. Applicants for the Civil Air Transportation Management program must upload all required documents to the system.
