2026 Annual Table: Classifications for Libertadores and Sudamericana as Clausura reaches matchday 2

The 2026 Annual Table in Argentina's First Division football is shaping up to be crucial, not only for determining one relegation spot but also for allocating nine coveted places in the 2027 Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana tournaments. The standings are a cumulative measure of points earned throughout the Apertura and Clausura championships.

Belgrano de Córdoba has already secured its place in next year's Copa Libertadores by winning the 2026 Apertura tournament. Additional Libertadores berths will be awarded to the winners of the ongoing Clausura tournament and the Copa Argentina. These include Estudiantes de La Plata (31 points), Boca Juniors and Independiente (30), and River Plate, Rosario Central, and Gimnasia de La Plata (all with 27 points).

An important nuance is that clubs qualifying for international tournaments as tournament winners (Apertura, Clausura, or Copa Argentina) will free up their position in the Annual Table, provided they finish in a qualifying spot for CONMEBOL events. For instance, Belgrano, currently eighth, would pass its Sudamericana spot to another team if they secure a Libertadores place through another route. Similar scenarios apply if teams like Independiente Rivadavia or Boca Juniors win continental titles while also ranking high domestically.
