2026 Argentinian League Table: Race for 2027 Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana Spots Heats Up

The 2026 Argentinian First Division Annual Table is shaping up to be crucial, not only for determining one of the two relegation spots but also for allocating nine coveted berths in the 2027 Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. The standings, which combine points from the Apertura and Clausura tournaments, are a key indicator of continental qualification.

Belgrano de Córdoba has already secured its place in next year's Copa Libertadores by winning the Torneo Apertura 2026. They will be joined by the winners of the Clausura and the Copa Argentina. The remaining three Libertadores spots will go to the top three teams in the annual table.

Currently, Independiente Rivadavia de Mendoza leads the annual standings with 35 points. Argentinos Juniors is in second place with 32 points, closely followed by Estudiantes de La Plata and Vélez, both with 31 points. Boca Juniors and River Plate are also in contention with 30 and 29 points, respectively.

An important consideration is that teams qualifying for international tournaments through winning domestic titles will free up their spot in the Annual Table, provided they finish within the qualification zones for Conmebol events. This could open doors for other clubs to secure Sudamericana berths.
