2026 Taoyuan Film Festival Unveils Striking New Visual

The 2026 Taoyuan Film Festival has revealed its striking new main visual, centered on the theme "Prospect & Vision." This year's design prominently features the "Taoyuan Film Goddess," depicted in a metallic finish, gazing into the distance. Her hair is creatively rendered as flowing film reels, symbolizing the evolving relationship between cinema and technology.

The visual artfully blends a sense of sculpture with fluidity, representing the enduring spirit of film art moving forward through time. The goddess's profile is meticulously outlined with a metallic sheen, evoking the allure of a grand cinema screen. Golden film reels transform into strands of hair, symbolizing moving images racing toward the future.

Designed by local artist Chen Yi-chun, who has a background in documentary filmmaking, the visual incorporates a subtle "13" within the goddess's ear, referencing the festival's thirteenth edition. Chen's previous work includes the acclaimed documentary "The Newcomer," and her designs have previously been recognized by the Ministry of Culture.

The festival itself, scheduled from August 14 to August 27, will feature ten thematic units and over one hundred film screenings and post-screening discussions. A significant focus will be placed on the forefront of AI technology and digital art, with a curated selection of domestic and international films exploring artificial intelligence, animation, virtual production, and cross-media narratives.
