2027: Group begins grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu in Ondo

The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has initiated fresh grassroots mobilization efforts across Ondo State, signaling a sustained engagement strategy with political stakeholders and residents ahead of the 2027 general elections. The group announced its activities following simultaneous meetings held across all 18 local government areas of the state. These meetings convened AMG members, leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former political officeholders, and other key participants.

Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, the Director-General of AMG, emphasized the group's commitment to maintaining consistent contact with the grassroots. He stated that continuous engagement is vital for sustaining a strong and effective grassroots organization, asserting that political mobilization should not be confined to election cycles. Asagunla highlighted the importance of regular interaction with members, stakeholders, and communities.

The simultaneous meetings also served to strengthen coordination across the 18 local government areas. The objective was to gather insights from the grassroots and ensure that information regarding the policies and programs of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration effectively reaches the populace. The AMG Director-General further elaborated that the group is actively working to establish a structure capable of engaging diverse segments of society, including youths, students, and women.

The simultaneous meetings were also intended to strengthen coordination across the 18 local governments, listen to issues from the grassroots and ensure that information about the policies and programmes of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration continues to reach the people.

As the 2027 elections approach, Asagunla stressed that AMG must intensify its mobilization and engagement activities. The group's primary objective is to secure the re-election of President Tinubu, citing the administration's achievements and reforms as justification for expanding grassroots outreach and enhancing communication effectiveness throughout the state. Asagunla concluded by noting that the strength of any political organization fundamentally relies on its capacity to maintain meaningful connections at the ward and local government levels.
