2027: SDP’s Adebayo unveils manifesto, promises to end insecurity

Adewole Adebayo has challenged President Bola Tinubu to a public debate while promising that a Social Democratic Party government would defeat insecurity within four years if elected in 2027.

We are promising that in four years, we are going to defeat insecurity.

Adebayo made the pledge in Abuja while unveiling the SDP’s 2027-2031 manifesto, titled “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity.” He urged Nigerians to use their votes to change the government, saying, “When you use your vote on January 16, 2027, to change the government, you have already gone 60 per cent of the way towards changing the way things are done.”

The SDP candidate also promised to establish four functional refineries, raise electricity generation to 75,000 megawatts and keep petrol prices at no more than N200 per litre. “No Nigerian should be living in Nigeria and buying petrol at international prices. That is why we have arrived at N200 per litre for petrol,” he said.

SDP National Chairman Sadiq Gombe described the manifesto as an alternative to what he called ineffective governance. “For too long, Nigerians have been asked to endure without results,” Gombe said. State chairmen’s forum leader Femi Olaniyi urged party members to take the proposals to the grassroots and explain them in terms ordinary Nigerians could understand.
