20s Woman Severely Injured by Motorboat Propeller While Enjoying Water Sports

A young woman suffered a serious leg injury in an accident at a water sports facility in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, on the afternoon of August 24. The incident occurred around 4:54 PM when the woman, identified as Ms. A, fell into the water while using a water sports facility.

Tragically, a motorboat's propeller passed near her leg shortly after she fell in, causing a severe injury. Ms. A sustained a significant laceration measuring 15 centimeters on her thigh. Emergency services were able to provide immediate first aid, including applying pressure to control bleeding.

Fortunately, the injury did not affect her femoral artery, a critical blood vessel. Following initial treatment, Ms. A was transported to a major hospital in the vicinity for further medical care and evaluation. The extent of her recovery and the long-term impact of the injury remain to be seen.
