23-year-old dies in traffic accident, driver at fault uninjured

A fatal traffic accident in Laško, Slovenia, claimed the life of a 23-year-old driver on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred in the village of Debro. According to the Celje Police Department, the deceased was driving from a side road and attempted to turn left towards Laško. At the same time, a 23-year-old driver approached from the direction of Celje. The approaching driver braked and tried to avoid a collision but still struck the rear right side of the car pulling out. The impact caused the 23-year-old's vehicle to veer off the road and hit a tree. Emergency services immediately began resuscitation efforts at the scene, but the young driver succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was not injured. Police will file a criminal complaint against this driver on suspicion of causing a traffic accident through negligence. This tragic event marks the tenth traffic fatality within the jurisdiction of the Celje Police Department this year. In the same period last year, seven people had died in traffic accidents in the region.
