25-year-old Bauchi man stabbed to death during fight

A street fight in Bauchi metropolis has resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man, Moh’d Musa. The incident occurred in the Bayan Bata area on August 22, 2026, around 11:00 PM, according to a statement from the Bauchi State Police Command.

On 22nd August, 2026, at about 2300hrs, a report of culpable homicide was received from Bayan Bata area of Bauchi metropolis.

Preliminary police investigations indicate that Musa was involved in an altercation with Abubakar Abdullahi, also known as ‘Dan Iya’. During the dispute, Abdullahi allegedly produced a knife and stabbed Musa. The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his death.

Operatives from the ‘A’ Division Township responded swiftly to the scene. They apprehended the suspect, Abdullahi, and seized the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing. The victim's body has been taken to the hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

The suspect is currently in police custody. The investigation is continuing, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiry and potential prosecution. Police Commissioner Sani-Omolori Aliyu has ordered a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served and advised the public to avoid violence and report any suspicious activities.
