Natasha Osawaru, wife of Nigerian music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has stepped into a new leadership role as the Minority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly. Her appointment came during a plenary session on Monday, following a significant reshuffle of the assembly's principal leadership.

This development occurred in the wake of Blessing Agbebaku's resignation as Speaker of the House, reportedly amid efforts by lawmakers to impeach him. Yekini Idaiyi, representing Akoko Edo II Constituency, has since been appointed as the new Speaker.

Osawaru, a member of the National Democratic Congress, previously held the position of Deputy Majority Leader. She described her new role as a profound responsibility rather than a simple title.
