3 Children Drown, Tragically Die While Swimming in Tra Khuc River

A tragic incident has cast a shadow over Quang Ngai province as three young lives were lost to the waters of the Tra Khuc River. The children, identified as Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh Như (10), Nguyễn Quang Quý (12), and Nguyễn Tuấn Hưng (10), drowned on the afternoon of May 22nd while swimming in the river.

Local authorities, in collaboration with police, militia, and a large contingent of residents, launched an extensive search operation that spanned the night. The community's efforts were rewarded, albeit with heartbreaking news, as the bodies of Như and Quý were discovered around 6 AM on May 23rd. Tragically, Hưng's body was found later that morning, around 8:45 AM.

This devastating event serves as a somber reminder of the inherent dangers associated with natural waterways, especially for young children. While the immediate focus is on supporting the grieving families through this difficult time, the incident will undoubtedly prompt discussions about water safety education and preventative measures within the community.
