36 Nigerians Deported from Europe in Joint Operation

A joint European operation saw 36 Nigerian citizens deported from Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, and Hungary. The deportees arrived in Lagos, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana, via a charter flight organized primarily by Germany, with support from the other three nations.

Among the deportees was an individual previously convicted of drug-related offenses in Austria. This deportation underscores Austria's Interior Minister Gerhard Karner's firm stance on expelling illegal residents and criminal offenders. Karner stated that Austria is continuing its "negative net migration" policy through consistent deportations, noting that the first half of the year saw more illegal residents and criminals removed than ever before.

"We will continue on this necessary path undeterred," Karner declared, signaling a sustained effort to enforce deportation policies. The operation highlights a coordinated approach among European nations to manage immigration and address criminal activity among foreign nationals.
