36-year-old man stabs father and son at Recoleta gas station

A dispute over an expired gas inspection sticker at a Recoleta service station ended with a father and son hospitalized and a 36-year-old man under arrest.

The incident occurred at about 8:13 p.m. at the station at Paraguay and Rodríguez Peña, after a customer arrived in a Volkswagen Voyage. According to police information cited by La Nación, the customer became involved in an argument with the station attendant. The disagreement reportedly turned into an exchange of punches.

A 61-year-old man and his 28-year-old son had arrived in a Chevrolet Agile to fill the vehicle with compressed natural gas. They intervened to try to separate the two men. At that point, the other customer allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked them.

The son suffered a stab wound to the neck, while his father was wounded in the left thigh. The suspect allegedly tried to throw the knife into a wastebasket on the pump island. Police found a Tramontina-style knife there after responding to a 911 call.

Emergency medical personnel treated both victims and took them to Fernández Hospital. Sources said neither was at risk of dying. The suspect, who is Venezuelan, had previous records for property damage in May of this year and for a fight in November 2024. He was placed at the disposal of the courts.
