4,132 Security Personnel Deployed for Student Demonstration Near Monas

Jakarta authorities deployed a significant security force of 4,132 personnel to manage a planned student demonstration in Central Jakarta on Friday. The joint contingent included police from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat, and local precincts.

The protest was organized by the Banten Awakening Activists Coalition, along with several other affiliated groups. According to Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, Head of Public Relations for Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat, the demonstration was expected to involve the People's Struggle Assembly Alliance, which includes student bodies from UNJ, Trilogi University, STIAMI Institute, and Paramadina University.

Authorities stated the demonstration was scheduled to commence around 1:00 PM WIB near the National Monument (Monas). In addition to securing the primary protest site, security forces were positioned in various other locations to anticipate potential additional demonstrations.
