Hidayatullah Launches Dawn Alms App to Boost Islamic Philanthropy

Hidayatullah, in collaboration with the National Amil Zakat Institution Baitul Maal Hidayatullah (Laznas BMH) and Maybank Syariah, has launched the Sedekah Subuh application. This digital innovation aims to make it easier for the public to perform regular alms and enhance the professional, transparent, and impactful management of Islamic philanthropy.

KH Naspi Arsyad, Chairman of DPP Hidayatullah, stated that the application's launch marks a significant collaboration between a da'wah organization, a zakat institution, and the banking sector. The app, with the tagline 'One Click Subuh Alms, a Million Benefits for the Ummah,' is designed to foster a culture of giving by making it more accessible through technology.

Arsyad emphasized the importance of leveraging digital transformation to broaden public participation in Islamic philanthropy. He highlighted Indonesia's strong social capital in the form of zakat, infak, sedekah, and waqaf traditions, particularly the practice of giving alms at dawn. He believes this potential needs to be supported by a digital system that facilitates continuous charitable giving.

"Indonesia has always been known as one of the countries with a high level of public generosity. Today, technology must be a means to strengthen the culture of sharing and bring wider benefits to the people," Arsyad said during the launch event in Jakarta on Wednesday (July 15, 2026). He added that the collaboration serves as a model for cross-sector synergy in developing an adaptive philanthropic ecosystem.
