5,000 join 69th National Day parade in Johor Bahru

About 5,000 people gathered at Dataran Bandaraya for Johor Bahru's 69th National Day parade, in an event presented as a display of unity and patriotism.

The procession included 49 contingents from government agencies, private companies, statutory bodies, marching bands, uniformed groups, students and volunteers. Fifteen vehicle contingents also took part, representing organizations including the Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police, local councils, the Public Works Department, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage.

Motor clubs, Grab e-hailing drivers and welfare organizations added to the parade under the theme "Malaysia MADANI: Shared Prosperity." State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd. Jafni Md Shukor officiated at the celebration, which began with Royal Malaysian Navy personnel carrying the Jalur Gemilang.

The program continued with various activities, including a special Armed Forces performance. Aiman Muhaimin Airniyusli, a 16-year-old student from SMK Tasek Utara 2, delivered the oath. The gathering was described as reflecting Johor residents' sense of togetherness and their appreciation of peace and prosperity.
