70-Year-Old Flees Accident, Tests Positive for Six Narcotics

Police in Seoul are investigating a 70-year-old man who tested positive for multiple narcotics after fleeing the scene of a traffic accident. The man was apprehended by officers after crashing his vehicle into a parked motorcycle and a wall in the Miadong area of Gangbuk District.

Authorities responded to the incident after a resident reported the crash. The man was stopped by police approximately 800 meters from the accident site. While a breathalyzer test showed no signs of alcohol, a preliminary drug test indicated the presence of six different types of narcotics in his system.

During questioning, the man reportedly stated that he had recently taken medication prescribed by a dermatologist. Police have sent his samples for further analysis to the National Forensic Service to confirm the findings and determine the exact substances involved.

Based on the results of the detailed examination, police will decide whether to charge the man with driving under the influence of drugs. The investigation is ongoing.
