717 vie for 288 jobs at Yilan Children's Festival, 45% acceptance rate

A competitive selection process is underway for the 2026 Yilan International Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival, with 717 applicants vying for 288 temporary staff positions and 31 foreign language guide roles. The acceptance rate stands at approximately 45%, highlighting the intense competition for these coveted festival jobs.

Candidates are being evaluated on crucial skills such as communication, service attitude, and emergency response during interviews. Simultaneously, 31 foreign language guides, proficient in English, Spanish, French, Korean, Japanese, and German, are undergoing a two-stage oral and in-person assessment.

The Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival is an important international event for Yilan in the summer. For the event to be successful, in addition to wonderful content, it also relies on the hard work of the staff.

I-Lan County Acting Magistrate Lin Mao-sheng visited the selection site to encourage the applicants. He emphasized the festival's importance as a major summer event for Yilan and stressed the vital role of staff in ensuring its success. He urged those selected to demonstrate exceptional service enthusiasm to create memorable experiences for visitors and international performance teams.

The festival, scheduled from July 4 to August 16, will span 44 days at Dongshan River Water Park. It encompasses four main themes: performances, exhibitions, games, and exchanges. The recruited temporary staff will support various operational areas, including water and aerial games, administration, ticketing, performances, and the children's museum.
