78 AI cameras installed on Vạn Ninh - Cam Lộ expressway

The Vạn Ninh - Cam Lộ expressway is undergoing significant technological upgrades with the installation of 78 AI-powered cameras. These cameras are designed to enhance traffic monitoring, identify traffic violations, and detect vehicles or incidents along the route, thereby improving the management and operation of the expressway.

In addition to the AI cameras, the expressway is being equipped with 8 electronic variable message signs (VMS), 16 information boards, and 4 electronic toll collection stations with a total of 14 lanes. The route also includes 7 automatic weighing stations at toll plazas to control vehicle loads, contributing to traffic safety and the preservation of the road infrastructure.

The data collected from these devices will be transmitted to a central command center located at the QL9D interchange. This real-time monitoring capability will enable the management unit to track traffic conditions, issue warnings, regulate flow, and coordinate timely responses to incidents. This integrated system aims to optimize the expressway's operational efficiency once fully implemented.

Progress on the installation of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment, encompassing hardware, sensors, and peripheral devices, has reached approximately 95%. The comprehensive deployment of these advanced technologies signifies a major step towards creating a smarter and safer transportation network on the Vạn Ninh - Cam Lộ expressway.
