A Childhood Home in Žvėrynas Comes Back to Life, Preserving What Matters Most

The old building in Žvėrynas has almost disappeared, but the elements that mattered most have survived. When Inblum’s architects reconstructed the owner’s childhood home, they focused on preserving what new materials could never recreate.

That meant retaining the family history embedded in the house, the fruit trees planted by several generations, and the building’s connection with its surroundings.

At first glance, the project appears to involve a simple wooden house. In reality, it required many highly precise solutions that remain almost invisible. The architects’ work was recognized for its timeless approach to architecture.
