A Dramatic 2-2 Draw Between 2 de Mayo and Luqueño

Sportivo Luqueño and 2 de Mayo shared a dramatic 2-2 draw at Río Parapití Stadium in the eighth round of Paraguay's Clausura tournament.

Tomás Muro put the visitors ahead after 17 minutes, finishing with his left foot after Iván Maggi battled for the ball inside the area. The match maintained a high tempo, with both teams creating chances.

The home side pressed for an equalizer, but Luqueño goalkeeper Francisco Mongelós made several firm interventions. 2 de Mayo, coached by Eduardo Ledesma, continued to search for a breakthrough, while Hernán Rodrigo López's Luqueño side worked to cut off the hosts' attacking routes.

2 de Mayo improved late in the first half but went into the break trailing 1-0. Matías Cáceres then leveled in the 58th minute, heading in a precisely delivered corner from Matías Moya after the ball struck the left post.

The hosts appeared to score again moments later, but referee Blas Romero ruled out the goal for a narrow offside. Lucas Morales remained dangerous on the right but missed several opportunities before finally finding the equalizer in the 80th minute, securing the final 2-2 score.
