A Kazakh-Chinese school of artificial intelligence may open in Astana

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is pushing for enhanced artificial intelligence education, proposing the creation of a Kazakh-Chinese school of AI in the capital, Astana. Tokayev emphasized China's significant experience and achievements in new technologies as a reason for this collaboration.

This initiative comes as the nation prepares to launch the University of Artificial Intelligence in September. However, Tokayev views this as insufficient, stressing the government's need to actively pursue the establishment of the specialized AI school.

The government needs to work on opening a Kazakh-Chinese school of artificial intelligence in Astana, given China's extensive experience and achievements in mastering new technologies.

Beyond AI-specific education, Tokayev also suggested exploring the feasibility of a schooling model for 18-year-old graduates. He referenced the practice at Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and some private institutions, citing the accelerated physiological development of contemporary children as a factor to consider. Tokayev reminded the ministry that Kazakhstan's constitution mandates a unified standard for school education nationwide, which must be integrated into any new proposals.
