"A Lie": PiS MP takes firm step against party colleague over secret report

Polish MP Kacper Płażyński has taken a firm stance against his party colleague, Marcin Horała, by issuing a pre-litigation notice demanding apologies and a 50,000 PLN payment to the "Łączy Nas Polska" foundation. The legal action stems from Horała's public accusations that Płażyński authored a report aimed at discrediting Karol Nawrocki as a potential presidential candidate for the Law and Justice (PiS) party.

Płażyński vehemently denied Horała's claims on the X platform, calling them a "lie" and expressing readiness for the matter to be settled in court. This public dispute erupted on X following a recent ultimatum from the PiS leadership demanding that party members resign from associations deemed to be conducting political activities by July 23, under threat of expulsion.

Morawiecki wants to create the impression that he is being kicked out of PiS and, in the name of purely personal ambitions, is dividing the largest opposition party.

The conflict highlights deeper internal divisions within PiS, particularly concerning associations like "Rozwój Plus," led by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and including Horała, and "Po pierwsze Polska," led by Jacek Sasin. While Sasin announced his association's dissolution, Morawiecki expressed a desire to remain in PiS and continue developing his association. Płażyński criticized Morawiecki's stance, suggesting it was driven by personal ambition and aimed at dividing the party.
