Aalborg Håndbold wins Super Cup, beating Skanderborg AGF for first trophy of season

Aalborg Håndbold claimed their first trophy of the season, the Super Cup, by defeating Skanderborg AGF 31-28 in a rematch of last season's league finals. The physically superior Aalborg team proved a step above their opponents in an intense and entertaining match held in Randers.

Skanderborg AGF, the league silver medalists, started strongly and held a slight lead for the first 20 minutes, with Fredrik Olsson orchestrating their play. However, Aalborg adjusted their defense, becoming more aggressive and engaging in tougher battles. By halftime, the favored Aalborg side had taken the lead.

The match saw a moment of challenge for Aalborg when key player Thomas Arnoldsen received a red card after his third two-minute suspension in the second half. Despite this setback, the team's confidence did not waver. Mads Hoxer stepped up, dominating offensive duels with his physical presence and helping Aalborg extend their advantage.

In the final stages, Skanderborg AGF appeared to run out of steam. Although they managed to create some late tension, Aalborg secured the win with a decisive goal from Tobias Nielsen with just 30 seconds left on the clock.
