Abdelaziz Oussaih: A surge of creativity, but little recognition

Abdelaziz Oussaih has moved through drama, melodrama, theater, comedy, music and cultural festivals, leaving his mark wherever he worked. In Morocco’s Souss region, few Amazigh people are unfamiliar with his name.

His career has included acting, film directing and production, as well as an active role in developing Morocco’s cultural industry through his company, Ayuz Vision. The article presents him as one of the few artists able to live fully within several creative worlds that often overlap while remaining distinct.

After years of exile in European countries, Oussaih returned to Morocco carrying a rich store of experience and expertise. His return aimed at more than coming home. He sought to help rewrite Morocco’s dream by giving Amazigh theater and cinema a different energy and a more open, modern outlook.
