Abducted Oyo Principal's Husband Pleads for Urgent Rescue, Cites Distress Videos

The husband of an abducted school principal in Nigeria's Oyo State broke down in tears, passionately appealing to Governor Seyi Makinde for intensified efforts to rescue his wife and other victims. The governor had visited the Oriire Local Government Area, where families of the kidnapped gathered to demand swift government action.

Visibly distressed, the husband revealed that his wife, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, principal of Community Grammar School, Esiele, is being forced to appear in distress videos circulating online. "My wife is the one being used to make the videos that are being circulated. It is very disheartening and depressing," he said in Yoruba, overcome with emotion.

He acknowledged the governor's efforts but urged him not to relent in the rescue mission, pleading for the safe return of all abducted individuals. The appeal follows a fresh video reportedly released by Mrs. Alamu, who called on President Bola Tinubu and Governor Makinde to consider dialogue for their freedom. The principal and others were abducted in the Ogbomoso axis, sparking widespread outrage and demands for stronger security intervention.

Authorities are working to track the kidnappers, but the incident underscores growing concerns over insecurity in rural Oyo State, where repeated attacks and abductions have occurred.
