"Abdullah Amghar Season" Festival Concludes in Morocco

Morocco's El Jadida celebrated the conclusion of the "Abdullah Amghar Season," a prominent religious and cultural festival, with a vibrant closing ceremony. The week-long event, held in the Doukkala region, showcased the richness of the kingdom's intangible heritage and the authenticity of its ancient traditions.

The festival featured a packed schedule of religious activities, traditional "tabourida" equestrian displays, falconry, and popular folk art performances. Organizers reported that attendance this year, which began on August 7, surpassed all expectations, drawing diverse segments of society.

"This edition achieved remarkable success and recorded exceptional public turnout that exceeded expectations," stated Mehdi Fatmi, president of the Moulay Abdullah communal council. He noted the participation of top national "tabourida" teams and renowned folk music artists.

Fatmi also highlighted the revival of "Halqa" art, a traditional storytelling and performance form, in response to visitor requests. The festival maintained its spiritual and heritage identity through Quranic recitations at the shrine and evenings of "Samaa" (listening) and "Madih" (praise).

The "Abdullah Amghar Season" also served as a significant driver for local economic development, fostering positive economic activity throughout the region. The diverse program included Quranic evenings, religious gatherings, scientific lectures, intellectual seminars, and exhibitions of traditional crafts.
