Abia gov approves payment of actress Ngozi Nwosu’s medical bills

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved the initial payment for the medical bills of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu, who had appealed for public assistance. The governor's Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Justice, announced that the intervention covers the first phase of her treatment.

His Excellency @alexottiofr have just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu to approve the first part of her medical bills.

Justice stated that while the governor's support is appreciated, additional funds are still required. He urged Nigerians to continue contributing to Nwosu's medical expenses. "While we sincerely appreciate His Excellency, we still appeal to kind-hearted Nigerians to please support her in any way possible you can," he wrote on X.

The 62-year-old actress had previously revealed she needed ₦30 million for three urgent surgeries. She had been hospitalized for three weeks and expressed her inability to cover the mounting costs. In an emotional video, Nwosu pleaded for help, saying, "Don't let me die. I know that you people never forsake me... I'm begging you, my fans and family, don't let me die because I am going through a lot, as in pain."

Nwosu had asked well-wishers to contact her management for support. The governor's timely approval offers a glimmer of hope for the actress as she navigates her health crisis.
