Abia NSCDC seeks tech upgrade for personnel

A five-day capacity-building workshop for 17 local government area divisional commands and heads of departments within the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, has concluded. The event called for personnel to equip themselves with modern security practices, skills, and knowledge essential for professional success.

Governor Alex Otti, represented by his Special Adviser on Security Matters, Commander MacDonald Ubah (retd.), highlighted that the integration of modern technologies in security management is not just desirable but indispensable for addressing critical gaps in security mechanisms and surveillance. Representing the Commandant General of NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Audi, the Zonal Commander Zone 5 (Imo and Abia states), Mr. Ahmed Gandi, emphasized the importance of discipline and teamwork. He reminded personnel of their sensitive role in ensuring public safety, peace, and order, urging them not to disappoint the public's trust. The State Commandant of NSCDC, Abia State Command, Mr. Chukwuemeka Odimba, explained that the workshop aimed to expose personnel to contemporary security strategies and modern operational techniques in areas such as security management, intelligence gathering, technology, innovation, threat assessment, and wireless communication networks.
