Abinader elected PRM party president for 2026-2030 term

Luis Abinader, the current president, expressed gratitude for his election as the president of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) for the 2026-2030 term. He conveyed his thanks through a WhatsApp message, which he also shared on his X account, using the hashtag #ConvenciónPRM.

Abinader stated that in this new phase, he and the party members will work together in unity to fortify the organization and promote changes that improve the Dominican Republic. The party's National Assembly of Delegates also appointed other officials to the new national leadership.

Deligne Ascención, former Minister of Public Works, was chosen as the first executive vice president. Milagros Ortiz Bosch will serve as the second vice president, followed by Eddy Olivares as the third, Nelson Arroyo as the fourth, and Salvador Ramos as the fifth vice president. Juan Garrigó Mejía takes over as the general secretary, succeeding Carolina Mejía, the mayor of the National District. Gloria Reyes was elected national secretary of Organization, with Kelvin Cruz and Lía Díaz as first and second national subsecretaries, respectively.
