Abu Dhabi’s Miral confirms three new Harry Potter lands at Warner Bros. World, due for completion in 2029

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is set to bring together Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest in three new Harry Potter-themed lands, with construction scheduled for completion in 2029.

Miral announced the project with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences on Monday, September 7, after a week of teasers on Harry Potter’s official social media channels. The park had built anticipation with a countdown and a video of the light blue 1962 Ford Anglia flying over the site, recalling the scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when Harry and Ron use the car to reach Hogwarts.

The new lands will cover about 63,000 square metres, or 678,000 square feet, and expand the park’s footprint by around 26%. Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi said the development will be the first Harry Potter-themed land anywhere to house all three environments in one park. At Universal’s existing Wizarding World destinations, visitors must travel between separate parks to experience both settings.

The expansion will also feature Harry Potter rides created exclusively for the Abu Dhabi park, as well as themed dining and shopping. The announcement quickly drew an enthusiastic online response. One fan wrote, “Can’t wait,” while another said 2029 could not come soon enough. Others described the project as a childhood dream coming true. The announcement received more than 100,000 views across the company’s social media platforms in less than an hour.

The Harry Potter lands will join two previously announced DC attractions, Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away. Together, the projects are expected to add about 70,000 square metres of theme park space and increase the park’s overall size by more than 50%. Opened in 2018, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi currently has six immersive lands and more than 60 rides, making it the region’s largest indoor theme park.
