Abuja-bound Aero Contractors flight returns to Lagos over technical issue

An Aero Contractors flight bound for Abuja made an emergency return to Lagos Saturday morning after the flight crew reported a technical issue mid-air. The aircraft, which departed Lagos around 7:30 a.m., was diverted as a precautionary safety measure.

Passengers described a tense situation as the cabin grew unusually hot, leading to anxiety. The crew informed those on board about a technical problem necessitating the return to Lagos, but did not disclose the exact nature of the fault. "There was a lot of panic because people did not know exactly what had happened," one passenger told PREMIUM TIMES.

Following the safe evacuation of passengers upon landing, Aero Contractors began boarding affected travelers onto another aircraft to complete their journey to Abuja. As of 10:10 a.m., passengers were in the process of continuing their travel. Aero Contractors had not yet responded to inquiries from PREMIUM TIMES regarding the specific technical issue, the reason for the diversion, or the arrangements made for passengers.
