AC Milan Officially Ends Contract with Ismael Bennacer, Career Continues in Qatar

AC Milan and midfielder Ismael Bennacer have officially ended their partnership ahead of the summer transfer window. The Algerian international's seven-year tenure with the Italian club has concluded by mutual agreement, marking the end of his time at the San Siro.

Bennacer joined AC Milan from Empoli in 2019 for a reported fee of 16 million euros. During his time with the Rossoneri, he played 178 competitive matches, including 137 in Serie A. His most successful period was the 2021/2022 season, where he was a key player in midfield under Stefano Pioli, helping the club secure their first Serie A title in over a decade.

However, a severe knee injury sustained at the end of the 2022/2023 season marked a turning point. Although he returned to play in December 2023 and made 20 appearances in the 2023/2024 season, his future at the club became uncertain. He was subsequently loaned out to Marseille for the second half of the 2024/2025 season and then to Dinamo Zagreb for the entire previous season.

Reports suggest the 28-year-old, who was born in France, will now continue his career in Qatar, joining the club Al Gharafa. This move signifies a new chapter for Bennacer after his significant contributions to AC Milan's Scudetto triumph.
