Acahay Launches 'Wind of Wisdom,' Anthology of 35 Plays by Local Artists

Acahay, Paraguay is set to celebrate a significant cultural milestone with the presentation of 'Yvytu Arandu, Viento de Sabiduría' (Wind of Wisdom), an anthology featuring 35 short plays. The collection, compiled by the Municipal Theater School Oropel, showcases the creative output of both students and faculty. The launch event is scheduled for Monday, June 22nd, at 10:00 AM in the Acahay Municipal Hall. Esteemed poet, narrator, playwright, and actor Moncho Azuaga, a recipient of the 2023 National Literature Prize, will lead the presentation. This anthology represents a substantial contribution to Paraguayan dramaturgy and a notable achievement for the cultural landscape of the Acahay district. Professor Líder Efraín González, head of the Municipal Theater School Oropel, highlighted that the book converges the voices of 32 authors. Their works capture stories and reflections inspired by the lived experiences, customs, and feelings of the Acahay community. The publication of 'Yvytu Arandu, Viento de Sabiduría' was made possible through the financial support of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONDEC). This funding was crucial for realizing a project dedicated to strengthening artistic creation and promoting dramatic literature beyond the capital. The organizers extend an invitation to the public and cultural figures to attend this free event, celebrating the artistic and literary talent emerging from Acahay.
