Aceh Food Safety Agency Strengthens Safe Food Culture to Prevent Disease

The Aceh Food and Drug Supervisory Center (BBPOM) is actively promoting a culture of food safety throughout the region to combat diseases caused by contaminated food.

BBPOM Aceh is implementing programs such as the 'Safe Food Village' and 'Community-Based Safe Food Market' to ensure the sustainability of food safety initiatives. These programs require the active participation of the entire community, from government bodies down to the village level, to ensure that knowledge is applied in daily life.

Marina Kaptriyani, Head of Administration at BBPOM Aceh, highlighted the importance of collaboration and continuous support. BBPOM Aceh regularly conducts monitoring, evaluation, education, and assistance to empower the community in identifying and avoiding food that poses health risks. Participants receive training on safe food market programs, village safety, identifying dangerous food ingredients, and the '5 Keys to Food Safety'.

The Head of the Banda Aceh City Community and Village Empowerment Agency, Ritasari Pujiastuti, praised BBPOM Aceh's commitment. She stated that such education and guidance are crucial for transforming food safety from a mere program into an ingrained community habit and culture.
