Aceh Government Forum Gets New Coordinator, Aims for Enhanced Regional Synergy

Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal has been appointed as the Coordinator for the Aceh Provincial Government Communication Forum (FKKA) for the 2025-2030 period. Following her inauguration, Djamal expressed her aspiration for the forum to cultivate synergy and harmonization among the governments of Aceh's districts and cities in formulating regional policies.

We hope that with this forum, synergy and harmonization can be achieved between the governments of districts and cities in the formulation of regional policies, and that there will be concrete steps we can implement, how to strive to perfect the revision of the Aceh government law, especially to achieve a society that is safer, more peaceful, and prosperous in accordance with the values of Islamic teachings.

The appointment of Djamal and 22 other FKKA officials was formalized by the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya, based on a decree from the FKKA's Fourth Conference. Deputy Minister Arya underscored the strategic importance of FKKA in gathering and communicating on-the-ground realities to the central government. He urged the forum to remain solid and engaged in dialogue, enabling the central government to better understand the recommendations from regional heads. Arya expressed his hope that the forum would not merely be a place for complaints but would also serve as a source of inspiration derived from best practices across Aceh.
