Aceh Police confirm peaceful situation after Peace Day commemoration despite minor unrest

The Aceh Regional Police have confirmed that the situation in Banda Aceh is now under control and peaceful following a religious gathering and prayer event commemorating the 21st Aceh Peace Day. The event, held at the Grand Mosque Baiturrahman, experienced brief unrest. However, security forces, in cooperation with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the public, swiftly managed to restore order. Kabid Humas Polda Aceh Kombes Pol Joko Krisdiyanto stated that the situation was quickly brought under control, preventing escalation. He praised the public's cooperation in helping to de-escalate the situation and maintain a peaceful environment. Joint security personnel remain deployed around the mosque area to ensure ongoing safety and comfort for the community. The police also announced plans to increase patrols in various parts of Aceh to maintain security and order. Joko emphasized the importance of collective efforts in preserving peace, unity, and mutual respect within the region.
