ActBlue cuts off Texas politician Galindo after call to imprison Zionists

Democratic Party fundraising platform ActBlue has ended its facilitation of donations for TX-35 Democratic primary candidate Maureen Galindo, following scrutiny over her campaign promise to imprison Zionists. While ActBlue did not immediately respond to queries, Galindo's donation page was no longer accepting contributions as of Sunday.

Galindo's website has since shifted to the Quick Contribute platform, and she proclaimed on Instagram that ActBlue shut down her page due to "lies and defamation." She had previously stated, "Close all internment camps!" and "Arrest pedophile billionaire Zionists!"

Her pledge to turn the Karnes County Immigration Processing Center into a prison for "American Zionists and former ICE officers" drew sharp condemnation from several prominent Democratic figures. Representatives Josh Gottheimer and Jared Moskowitz stated that if Galindo were to enter Congress, they would force a vote to expel her daily, calling her views "insane" and "antisemitic."

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Suzan DelBene also released a statement condemning Galindo and blaming the Republican Party campaign for supporting her. However, Galindo issued a press release on Friday arguing that the media had misrepresented her words. She clarified that she never uttered the phrase "internment camps" and that she wants the Karnes ICE facility turned into a prison for "billionaire Zionists who have profited off genocidal prison state materials and trafficking." She asserted that prosecution would be based on their behaviors and actions, not their religion.
