Actor Luo Ziwei Returns to 'Tofu Mama' in New Role After Shocking Comeback

Actor Luo Ziwei has made a swift and surprising comeback to the MinTV drama "Tofu Mama" just one month after his character's dramatic exit via a car accident. His return reconnects the popular "Sheng Ling CP" pairing with co-star Su Yanpei, much to the delight of viewers who were heartbroken by his previous departure.

Luo described the whirlwind process of his return, from being notified to joining the cast for filming, as happening in less than three days. "I was completely stunned when I received the notice to join the crew because I absolutely did not expect to return, I had no psychological preparation," he admitted. The rapid turnaround highlights the production's urgency and his importance to the storyline.

To fully embody his new character and shed the previous persona, Luo underwent a significant transformation. He sports a completely new hair color and a sharp, short haircut, a style he hasn't worn in a long time. "At first, I felt it was very fresh but really not used to it! But when people around me said it looked good, it gave me more confidence in the new look," he shared.

His new role presents a significant challenge, as the character's personality differs greatly from his previous one. In one scene, Su Yanpei's character, Yu Ling, emotionally embraces Luo's character, mistaking him for a past love. Luo had to suppress his familiarity with Su Yanpei to authentically portray his character's shock and confusion at being hugged by a stranger. He is now focused on adapting quickly to the demanding filming schedule and hopes his performance will offer a refreshing change for the audience.
