Penghu School Holds Beachside Graduation Ceremony, Writes Wishes in Sand

Graduates at Penghu's Shanshui Elementary School celebrated their commencement with a unique beachside ceremony, braving the seasonal rains to express their hopes and gratitude.

Using branches from the silver wattle tree as makeshift pens, the students inscribed their graduation messages and future aspirations directly onto the sand of the popular Shanshui tourist beach. The ceremony commenced with the awarding of diplomas and various school prizes, followed by heartfelt speeches and the symbolic writing of wishes.

Each graduate articulated their thanks, blessings, and future goals aloud to the sea, while teachers, fellow students, and guests offered their own well wishes. Aspirations ranged from becoming football players and athletes to doctors, teachers, police officers, firefighters, esports players, and artists.

A highlight of the creative event was a football kicking game on the sand, where graduates, known for their skill in the sport, had six attempts to score. Each goal earned them 100 New Taiwan dollars, with a maximum prize of 600 dollars.
