Actor Serhat Mustafa Kılıç found dead at home

Actor Serhat Mustafa Kılıç, 51, was found dead at his home in Istanbul’s Kağıthane district after his girlfriend was unable to reach him for several days.

Özlem E., 50, went to Kılıç’s home after receiving no response since Thursday. When he did not answer the door, she used a key in her possession to enter the apartment. She found him motionless in an armchair in the living room.

After noticing that he was not breathing and that his body was cold, she called Turkey’s 112 emergency line. Police and medical teams were sent to the address, and medical personnel confirmed that Kılıç had died.

Özlem E. told police that Kılıç had lymphatic cancer. Police informed the relevant units and launched an investigation into his death.

Kılıç was remembered for his role as Ergun Plak in the television series “Seksenler.” He was born in Ankara on July 8, 1975, studied theatre at Bilkent University and worked in theatre, television and education. His professional career included Ankara State Theatre, Diyarbakır State Theatre, Erzurum State Theatre and Istanbul City Theatres.
