Actor Shao Xin's son accused of scamming, threats; victims form alliance

The son of veteran Taiwanese actor Shao Xin (now Shao Xiaodong), Shao Yixiang, is facing accusations of defrauding and intimidating individuals met through online dating and social platforms. Several alleged victims have come forward, planning to form an alliance to seek justice and caution the public.

According to reports, Shao Yixiang allegedly used the alias "Yin Chu'an" online, claiming to be an 18-year-old of Korean descent. However, numerous individuals have accused him of malicious deception, including "scamming for free meals and drinks." Upon realizing they were not alone in their experiences, the victims decided to unite and publicly share their stories to raise awareness about Shao Yixiang.

One victim has reportedly filed a police report, accusing Shao Yixiang of making death threats against their friends and family. The alleged intimidation stemmed from emotional outbursts, according to the report.

Shao Xin, who has since changed his name to Shao Xiaodong, was previously known for his acting career, including a role in "I Love Mermaid" and a Golden Horse Award nomination for Best Actor in 1992. He transitioned to the food and beverage industry and online direct sales around 2010 after largely withdrawing from the entertainment scene. His past ventures included hot pot restaurants and a noodle shop, and he also operated a direct sales platform with "Brother" Jacky Wu in 2021. Most of his restaurant businesses have since closed.
