Former 'Asia Tungsten King' chairman murdered by ex-employee during burglary

Police have apprehended a former employee, identified by the surname Lin, in connection with the murder of the former chairman of the "Asia Tungsten King" company, Huang. The suspect was arrested in Taichung City after allegedly breaking into the victim's luxurious residence in Pingtung County.

The suspect allegedly broke into the house to steal, but was discovered by Chairman Huang, and then attacked him with a stick, hitting him on the head, and binding his hands and taping his eyes and mouth, causing Huang to die of serious injuries.

Investigators revealed that Lin, who previously worked as a metalworker at the company and was familiar with the victim's home layout and security weaknesses, entered the residence on July 24th while Huang was away. The motive was reportedly financial distress, as Lin had previously borrowed money from the company. However, his plan was disrupted when Huang unexpectedly returned home.

Fearing discovery, Lin allegedly attacked Huang with a blunt object, striking him on the head. He then reportedly bound Huang's hands and taped his eyes and mouth shut, causing fatal injuries. Lin fled the scene without taking any valuables due to panic.

After the incident, due to the lack of property damage in the house and the special background of Mr. Huang's company, it was initially speculated that it might be related to national security, but after the police investigated Huang's communication records and screened more than 300 vehicles, and reviewed more than 1,000 surveillance cameras, they found that Lin had appeared near the scene of the crime on a motorcycle at the time of the incident.

Initial speculation had considered national security implications due to the victim's business background. However, a thorough investigation involving analysis of phone records, vehicle tracking, and over a thousand surveillance camera feeds led police to identify Lin. He was found to be near the crime scene on a motorcycle around the time of the murder and had unusually left his rented accommodation. After being apprehended in Taichung, Lin confessed to the burglary and subsequent assault, citing financial difficulties as his motive.
