Actor Wang Kai Dies Suddenly at 43; Friends Mourn Loss

Veteran Taiwanese actor Wang Kai, known for his roles in popular dramas, has died at the age of 43. His body was discovered in his rented apartment in Taipei's Daan District on May 26.

Initial police investigations suggest no external force or suicide was involved, but the exact cause of death awaits a formal autopsy. The news has deeply saddened many of his friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Wang Kai, an only child, moved to Taipei at 16 to pursue his career. Discovered while working in retail, he trained in Singapore and gained initial fame at 18 for his role in "Lavender." Despite a high starting point, his career faced setbacks, leading him to open a bar in Beijing and work as a nightclub publicist in Taiwan. He later rebranded and transitioned to Taiwanese local dramas in 2011, achieving renewed popularity with works like "The Worlds of Fantasy," "Scent of Happiness," and "The City of Sadness."
