Actor Wang Kai's memorial service opens for three days; elderly mother to attend farewell

A three-day memorial service began August 7 for actor Wang Kai, who died suddenly at his rented apartment on July 26 at the age of 43. The news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

"Sister Kuan" (Chiu Li-kwan) and her assistant were among the first to pay their respects at the "Single Trip Travel Agency," operated by "Xiao Dong Gua." They stayed for about 16 minutes before departing by car. When asked about her relationship with Wang Kai, his assistant clarified that Chiu acted more like an elder sister to their group, refuting rumors of a godmother-godson relationship.

The memorial features a mailbox where fans and friends can write letters to Wang Kai. His agent stated that the photo displayed was chosen according to Wang Kai's wishes. The agent also shared that Wang Kai's sister is currently staying with their mother in Kaohsiung due to the mother's health needs. The mother will travel north for the farewell ceremony but will not be present for the cremation.

Following the ceremony, Wang Kai's ashes will be interred in Kaohsiung. The agent confirmed that the mother's attendance at the farewell is planned, but she will not participate in the cremation process.
