Actress Davina Karamoy Testifies as Witness and Victim in Hanania Group Fraud Case

Actress Davina Karamoy spent approximately five hours undergoing questioning as a witness at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The investigation centers on allegations of fraud by the umrah and hajj travel agency PT Khasanah Tamah Internasional, also known as Hanania Group.

Investigators posed around 30 questions to Karamoy, focusing on her collaboration with the travel agency. Her lawyer, Yulius Irawansyah, clarified that Karamoy is not just a witness but also a victim. Both Karamoy and her mother had made a down payment for a special hajj pilgrimage through Hanania Group, totaling $10,000.

"My client and her parents registered for hajj with Hanania Group and have already paid the down payment," Yulius stated. He explained that the payment was made in late 2025 for a special hajj, with an estimated departure in five to seven years. The fraud allegations now threaten their pilgrimage plans.

Karamoy's legal team is currently not pursuing legal action against Hanania Group's management, expressing hope that the deposited funds can be transferred to another travel agency to facilitate the pilgrimage. The actress had previously used Hanania Group's services for two umrah trips: one in September 2024, which was part of a promotional collaboration with a TV station, and another in August 2025, which she paid for herself and included family members. The total cost for the second trip for several individuals was Rp 233.8 million.

Irawansyah also denied rumors that Karamoy had invested in Hanania Group, emphasizing that her involvement was limited to travel arrangements and promotional activities. Karamoy received a stipend of Rp 10 million for each trip, all of which has been returned to investigators. Today, she returned Rp 20 million in cash to the investigators, stating it was a stipend and not a fee, and was returned with full awareness.
