Actress Maja Posavec turns two decades of amateur astrology into a theater play

Croatian artist Maja Posavec has translated her long-standing amateur passion for astrology into a theatrical format with her new play, "Astro Maja." The performance, which premiered on June 11, stems from Posavec's twenty years of studying natal charts and offering astrological advice to friends, often in a format that blends insight with entertainment.

I have been involved in astrology amateurishly for twenty years, more or less actively. I often look at natal charts for friends and advise them through it, but it often looks like an astro-show where everyone primarily has a good time.

Posavec views astrology as a "map of symbols and energies." While she doesn't follow daily horoscopes or track celestial changes meticulously, she turns to astrology for symbolic explanations of past or present events, finding it helps her process and accept them. She admits to occasional impatience and a desire to predict the future, acknowledging that this can lead to both pleasant surprises and disappointments.

"Astro Maja" is a collaboration with Aleksandar Švabić and produced by Petra Cvirn of Umjetnička organizacija Teatrum. This project continues Posavec's exploration of female-centric themes, following her 2023 project "Poma Oma Ma." Teatrum has a history of producing female monodramas, making "Astro Maja" a fitting addition to their repertoire.

For me, astrology is a map of symbols and energies that we can or cannot recognize, know, or feel, but if we 'cooperate with them,' they can be favorable to us – to quote Astro Maja.

Born on May 16, Posavec identifies strongly with her zodiac sign, Taurus. She embraces the sign's reputation for stability, practicality, loyalty, and hedonism, valuing security and material comfort. However, she also acknowledges personal nuances, noting that she isn't always the most practical, especially regarding spatial organization, and her patience can be selective, ranging from serene to explosive.

Absolutely!!! I am a true Taurus and everything mentioned above applies to me. Now, there are nuances: I am not always the most practical, often I am the exact opposite, especially e.g. in organizing space. Patience is also selective in my case, I can be zen-patient, and in another situation, I can flare up like a lion.
